Shop Staff

Lacy Taylor — Lacy is the owner of Anacapa Dive Center for the last 13 years. She is a graduate of the Marine Diving Technology program at Santa Barbara City College. She is a NAUI instructor and has been actively diving since her 16th birthday. She has two young boys who also love the water. Her 6 year old is an avid snorkeler.

Steven Adams — Steven is the manager of Anacapa Dive Center and has been with Anacapa Dive Center for 12 years. Steven has been working in the recreational diving industry for over 20 years. He is a PADI Master Instructor, Emergency First Response CPR & First Aid Instructor, and he teaches several of Divers Alert Network's courses. Steven’s life passion is scuba diving and his 4 children.

Jody Pesapane — Jody is the Anacapa Dive Center's underwater photography specialist. She is also a PADI Instructor with underwater photography and videography specialties. She is a graduate from the Brooks Institute of Photography and has been working in the film industry for the past 10 years. Jody has traveled the world shooting video. You may have seen some of her footage on the Discover Channel’s shark week.

Jeff Baker — Jeff is a part time staff member of Anacapa Dive Center with a background in film and videography. He is currently a Divemaster Candidate.

Scuba Instructors

Jeff Shettler — Jeff is a PADI, NAUI and SSI Scuba instructor. In addition, Jeff is an Emergency First Response CPR & First Aid Instructor and he teaches several of Divers Alert Network's courses. Jeff and Lacy graduated from city college together. Jeff has a daughter who is growing up fast half way around the world in New Zealand. In the past 16 years Jeff has had a plethora of diving and marine related jobs.

Mark Christman — Mark is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and has been teaching for Anacapa Dive Center for 8 years. He originally became divemaster certified at ADC and then moved to Reno where he became a scuba instructor. Upon his arrival back in Santa Barbara, ADC quickly snatched him up. Mark’s day life is spent as a local loan broker.

Barbara Popp — Barbara is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and an Emergency First Response CPR & First Aid Instructor. Her day job is a hair stylist at Studio S.

Michael Taylor — Michael is a scuba instructor and Vice President of Anacapa Dive Center. He learned to dive when Lacy and Michael first started dating. They have been married for over 9 years now. Michael’s day job is an engineer for a local medical device company. Michael has a love of all outdoor sports and enjoys spending time with his two sons.

Assistant Instructors

Tom Mangus — As Steven’s good friend he has assisted many, many courses at Anacapa Dive Center for the past 10 years. Tom is a local plumber and ADC often utilizes his expertise. You will usually find Tom helping out as a PADI Assistant Instructor, but you may sometimes find him behind the counter helping customers or answering phones. He always seems to be around when ADC needs him.

Jeff Shettler
